Scenario - Assign another Role Center

You are working at the accounting department of CRONUS USA, Inc. When configuring your Dynamics 365 account, the system administrator assigned you to the Sales Order Processor Role Center.

You decide that you want to switch to the Accountant Role Center that better fits your needs.

Task

Switch to the Accountant Role Center.

Steps

  1. In the app bar, select the Settings icon and then select My Settings.

  2. On the Role Center field, select the AssistEdit icon.

  3. Select Accountant and then select OK.

  4. Select OK to close the page.

Scenario - Use Search for Page (Tell Me)

You want to verify which salespeople have been set up in Business Central.

Task

Find the salespeople list by using Search for Page (or Tell Me).

Steps

  1. Select the Search for Page icon in the app bar.

  2. Enter people in the search field.

  3. Select the appropriate link for salespeople.

Scenario - Find and use keyboard shortcuts

You want to show and hide the FactBox pane by using a shortcut key.

Tasks

  • Find the list of keyboard shortcuts for Business Central.

  • Use the appropriate shortcut to show/hide the FactBox pane.

Steps

  1. Select the help icon in the app bar.

  2. Select Keyboard Shortcuts.

  3. Scroll down to the General Keyboard Shortcuts.

  4. Look for the Show and hide the FactBox pane.

  5. The appropriate shortcut key is: Alt+F2. Try using this shortcut on a customer page.
