We've compiled a list of frequently asked questions and provided brief answers to help you get to your information quickly.
How can I find out if a connector, trigger, or action is in preview?
The connector details page will contain the word “Preview” in the title, the trigger, or the action if the connector, trigger, or action is in preview state. Connectors, triggers, and actions without this designation are generally available and don't have the limitations associated with previews.
Examples
Preview connector with the Preview designation in the title.
Preview trigger with the Preview designation in the trigger title.
Preview action with Preview designation in action title.
What does preview status mean for a connector?
Microsoft wants to make sure that a connector is stable before we release it to general availability. Until that time, the connector is in preview. Previews are provided "as is," "with all faults," and "as available". They're excluded from service level agreements (SLAs), but are made available on a preview basis so that you can get early access and provide feedback. Learn more about preview features and how to enable them. Previews might not be covered by customer support. They might be discontinued at any time without notice and might not be released into general availability.
We encourage you to try out the preview connectors and provide feedback. This will help us stabilize and improve the connectors. You can use the product forums for sharing issues and feedback. Microsoft support might not be available for preview features, including connectors, but we'll try to provide support on a best-effort basis.
What does general availability status mean for a connector?
General availability status means that the connector can be used in production and is fully supported. Criteria for a connector to be promoted from preview to general availability are described in the documentation.
When does a connector get to general availability?
There's no fixed timeline for when a preview connector will get to general availability. Microsoft provides a set of criteria and guidelines to connector publishers for when to move to general availability.
Your feedback and connector health are important for Microsoft and our partners to gauge demand and readiness for general availability. Please share your feedback in the product forum. We also encourage you to reach out to the connector owner.
Can or should I use a preview connector?
We encourage you to use preview connectors in your development apps only and provide feedback. Preview functionality, including connectors, isn't recommended for use in production apps.
I want to use a preview connector in my production apps. How can I request for general availability or inquire about the general availability status of a preview connector?
Our recommendation is not to use any preview functionality, including connectors, in production apps. Please share your feedback and request for general availability in the product forum. The connector details page displays information about the publisher.
For any requests or queries regarding the general availability status of a connector whose publisher is Microsoft, create a product support ticket. Microsoft can provide guidance around the general availability of the connector.
Example
For any requests or queries regarding the general availability status of a connector whose publisher is not Microsoft, contact the publisher directly using the support email address or support link in the connector details page. You can also open a product ticket. In that case, our support team will contact the publisher using the information provided in their documentation.
Example
The connector is GA (general availability) status and then the publisher adds an action or trigger. Is the connector still GA?
Yes, the connector will remain in GA with its existing features. If the new action or new trigger doesn't meet general availability criteria, only the new action or trigger will be in preview.
